The season series between these two in the regular season was quite erratic and does not really put much perspective into what we may see.  The first matchups at the beginning of the season were owned by Miami but Indy dominated their later season battle.

Some people may want to write off the Pacers based on how they played Orlando... but Orlando has a lot of guys fighting for contacts and looking to prove themselves in D12's absence (especially if it is long term).

Some may think that Miami totally dominated a mediocre Knicks squad that is sub 500 since the Melo trade and will have an easy road towards the ECF.

Indy has a more dominant presence in the paint and a much deeper bench than Miami and there are ways that Indy can pull off enough victories to beat the Heat.  They are not playoff tested, and this is a very valid argument.  But Vogel has these guys playing a very methodical and conservative form of basketball (similar to Popovich in SA) that is sometimes boring to watch, but produces winning results.  They don't typically get blown out, but on the flip side they rarely gain large leads.  There has been quite a few times this season this squad has been tested in late game situations this season and needless to say they have really surprised me with a lot of their comebacks from behind and close game close-outs.  They don't turn the ball over often which will limit Miami in transition.  However they do need to pick up their FG% and score in the 90's most games otherwise Miami will likely move on.

Any thoughts or comments on this series?
