Ronda had lost mentally before this fight even started. It was obvious when she said during one of her interviews last week by starting out the sentence with "If I lose...etc" . She had 0 confidence entering this fight regardless of how long she trained for or how much weight she lost, mentally she was toast.

I know you can be a sore winner too but if this one tweet is the extent of it I really have no problem with it.  All the promo leading up to the fight was all about Ronda, while at the same time Ronda was being molly-coddled with this sham of a media blackout.

Nunes had to know Rousey's psyche was a pile of mush and that she was fragile as can be anytime she looked into her eyes.  I actually give Nunes a lot of credit for not saying one word to Ronda in any of those staredowns because she could have easily broken her with a simple "say goodnight Ronda".  Rousey probably wouldn't have even showed up for the fight if Nunes had said anything judging from her mental state.

SCAL, I think that this was probably one of your best handicaps in a long time. It isn't often when you get a psychological feel for a fighter all over the media ahead of a title bout. Not that it was yesterday's news but that kind of depression she went into has significant impact that is not easily measured and addressed. I can't imagine a worse match up for her return.

Had Rousy taken the Tyson route of fighting a couple lesser talents to tune up, the narrative would have been significantly different. That being said, the UFC can't handle boxing methodologies on stage. Champion turnover is high and once they have a marquis fighter, they have to milk those tickets while there are tickets to be milked.

EXACTLY. Feed her some tomato cans like Tyson got with McNeely and Mathis and Seldon and THEN fight Holyfield.

She just jumped right into Holyfield!

I'll tell you why. THE MONEY. She wouldn't get 3 million for fighting a 15 ranked woman. So she'll take the money and ride off into the sunset with some kids I believe. And I think that's perfect for her.

I know Dana was rooting hard for Ronda to lose this. He gave her 3 million and HE had to come to media day to fill her spot!

Look people let's just call it like it is. Psychological or not, the woman simply has absolutely no idea how to fight standing up. She's absolutely brutal and it showed. Look at Cody the fight prior and then look at Rousey. What a joke. Sh!t foot work, no head movement, I could go on and on. She was steered from one victory to another by Dana. She's junk. Have yahoo ever seen her throw a kick in any of her previous fights? She simply goes straight to the arm bar in every fight and the sport caught up to her very very fast.  She was and is a really big FRAUD. I don't care to type any longer. In the past I use to post often in the mm a forum. You have to pick your spots in the sport to make some money off the book. Not that hard actually. This was a great spot and Scale saw it as well.  Props to you pal. Keep on trucking.

Look people let's just call it like it is. Psychological or not, the woman simply has absolutely no idea how to fight standing up. She's absolutely brutal and it showed. I went with rousey..had i known she was paid 3 mil I would have went huge on nunes..she knew she was done...probably didn't even used a training camp, steady diet of drinking her tears and tae-bo. wouldn't be surprised if she bet against herself..one bet i would take is she won't fight ever again..i put 15 dollars on it so i could care less but I don't think nunes will wear that belt long and rousey owes her old fans more than that pathetic performance..side bet next time we see her it will doing double penetration when she blows all her cash!

Except there is no actual evidence that it was psychological. It was a coaching and strategy issue. I have no idea where Rousey is mentally. And despite his winning pick, either does someone like Scalabrine. Unless he has a very inside source. Which I highly doubt.

Rousey is probably done. But if she does come back, she needs to dump her current coach and get with a real camp.

Congrats on the winning pick, Scalabrine.

I know you were on a very bad run. I believe 1-6 with your recent posted plays. I can feel a quick turnaround coming...

Is Hugh even joking? I had a lot of friends, some big UFC fans, that thought this show was on Saturday. Like UFC shows usually are.

Let's look at her last 5 UFC fights.

Nunes around +175 vs Cat Zingano.
Nunes won the 1st round, but then lost the 2nd, and was eventually TKOd in the 3rd.  Faded considerably after the 1st round.  Rousey took out Zingano in 14 seconds.

    Nunes around -600 vs Baszier
Baszier was on a bad streak, basically done with the UFC.  They gave Nunes this fight to get her back on track.  Easy 1R TKO.

    Nunes around +200 vs McMann
This was an impressive 1R sub, however McMann was coming off a loss to Tate.  Good win for Nunes, but still not that impressive.  Rousey took out McMann in 1 minute.

    Nunes around Even vs Shevchenko
Nunes took the 1st, the 2nd was close, but again she faded late 2nd, and she got pieced up in the 3rd.  Nunes won by Unanimous decision.  If this was a 5 round fight, Shevchenko would have won easily.

Nunes around +120 vs Tate for Title
Tate went into this fight way too confident, did way too much press, and was not on her game/was just about done with UFC.  It was impressive by Nunes, but let's not forget that Rousey made a better Tate tap twice.  And Tate looked miserable a few weeks ago in her next fight/last fight in UFC.  Tate also was getting destroyed by Holm before she got the 5R Sub.

The bottom line is, you are getting horrible value.  Rousey opened at -320 and the media narratives had people drive this price all the way down.  All the value is on Rousey right now.  And you talk about the Holm fight.  Well, let's talk about it.  She took the fight way sooner than she should've because Dana White asked her to move up the fight, so she had a shorter camp than usual.  The fight was also in Australia, and we can be honest and say Holly Holm was just a bad match-up for Rousey.  Rousey did not have a good game plan and fought right into what Holm wanted.  Nunes is certainly not near the match-up problem Holm is for Rousey.

    Rousey's last several fight odds.

    vs Holm ~ -1200
    vs Correia ~ 1700
    vs Zingano ~ -1000
    vs Davis ~ -1200
    vs McMann ~ -400
    vs Tate ~ -700
    vs Carmouche ~ -900
    vs Kaufman ~ -900
    vs Tate ~ -400

Thinking you are getting good value with Nunes at +135 is just wrong.  All of the value is on Rousey.  I cannot believe how much the public is driving this line down, but Rousey will be one of my biggest MMA bets in some time.  Good luck, Scal.  You will need it.

My head? You wish, your passive aggressive trolling is boring and predictable. Hey there's a new thread by Scal over in NFL, still on pg 1 and you've only posted 3 times in it. Who's bobbing on what?
