A near-historic comeback fell short in Game 3 as the Vegas Golden Knights staved off a collapse against the Carolina Hurricanes, prevailing in overtime to regain the series lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

With Vegas looking to grab a stranglehold in Game 4 tonight, our Covers experts break down their top NHL picks ahead of puck drop on Tuesday, June 9.

Neil Parker's expert pick: Jack Eichel Over 2.5 shots

Price: -120 at BET99

Count on statistical correction in the shots column for Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel, after he recorded just four shots on 15 attempts (26.7%) through three games of the Stanley Cup Final.

Eichel registered 42 shots and 82 attempts (51.2%) to start the postseason at 7.08 shots and 13.83 attempts per 60 minutes, so his 3.45 shots and 12.92 attempts per 60 against the Carolina Hurricanes reinforce that it’s just his shooting efficiency lagging.

Add the American converting 55.2% of his attempts into shots during the regular season to Eichel beginning 78.8% of his five-on-five shifts in the offensive zone against Carolina, and I’m happy to play this prop to -125.

Josh Inglis' expert pick: Jordan Martinook Over 0.5 points

Price: +225 at BET99

Jordan Martinook is on the top line with Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov, yet he's still listed at north of two dollars for a point.

The fair price for Martinook for a point should be around +160, and that’s generous. Carolina has shown it can score at will when needed, and Martinook also gets plenty of empty-net time on defense and could cash this late in the game with the Canes already up.

The longer the series goes, the more value there is on non-PP forwards like Martinook, who could move 30+ points off this price with another solid offensive showing in Game 4.

Todd Cordell's expert pick: Noah Hanifin Over 2.5 blocked shots

Price: +135 at BET99

Noah Hanifin has been on the ice for 91 shot attempts in 62 minutes at 5-on-5. He is bleeding shots — and blocking plenty of them along the way.

He blocked four shots in each of the first two games and still picked up two blocks despite missing a good chunk of Game 3 with an injury.

Hanifin played a regular shift during overtime periods, suggesting he should see his normal usage moving forward.

This is a generous price for someone who has cleared this line in four of the past five games he played. Bet to +125.

Quinn Allen's expert pick: Jackson Blake Over 0.5 goals

Price: +315 at BET99

Jackson Blake has been a breakout star in these playoffs, scoring five times. Blake leads the team with 6.33 individual expected goals and in individual great-danger chances with 28. Even though he's yet to find the back of the net in the Final, the opportunities are there.

Carolina is also scoring 4.67 expected goals per 60 minutes when Blake is on the ice, indicating his importance to its offense. Additionally, Carolina is generating more than 17 high-danger chances per 60 minutes with him in action.

Given the volume of quality chances he's generating, Blake is an appealing candidate to find the back of the net.

I'd play this to +250.
