Rangers vs Oilers Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

The Oilers are starting to come around, and playing at home is certainly helping. With the visiting Rangers in town, expect Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and all to step up and win by multiple goals.

Lost in the ho-hum start for the Edmonton Oilers is that they’re 3-1 at home, and I’m expecting another solid showing against the New York Rangers at Rogers Place on Thursday, October 30.

My top Rangers vs. Oilers predictions and NHL picks call for a statement showing from Edmonton on home ice tonight.

Rangers vs Oilers prediction

Rangers vs Oilers Best bet: Oilers -1.5 (+155)

Playing seven of eight on the road is a tough stretch, and it’s especially difficult in the beginning stages of the season.

The Edmonton Oilers returning to Rogers Place and topping the solid Utah Mammoth 6-3 on Tuesday is telling, and I expect them to turn the corner and string wins together in bunches moving forward.

Hit the rewind button, and the Oil started slowly the past two seasons, too.

The underlying numbers don’t jump off the chart yet, and there have been several tweaks to the supporting cast, but the one-two punch of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl remains intact.

Plus, the New York Rangers have scored the second-fewest goals per game and don’t have the depth to go 60 minutes against the Oilers on the highway.

Rangers vs Oilers same-game parlay

As noted, the Rangers are struggling to find the back of the net, and Edmonton No. 1 goalie Stuart Skinner will see enough shots to clear this benchmark. New York is averaging a middling 28.4 shots per game and also ranks sixth in Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5.

Additionally, a key focus to kick a scoring funk is an emphasis on putting pucks on net.

Turning to Draisaitl, he’s recorded three or more shots in four straight games with a total of 16 on 30 attempts. He’s also posted a rock-solid 54.6 CF% and ranks in the 93rd percentile of forwards in shots on goal.

Add his role as a go-to shooter on the No. 1 power-play unit, and Draisaitl is set for another big night.
