Don’t look now, but the Calgary Flames are right in the mix for a playoff spot. Calgary is 9-3-0 over its last 12 games and sits just three points out of a wild-card spot in the West.
The Flames will look to pick up their fourth straight win tonight against the Nashville Predators, who have also shown signs of improvement with a 12-6-0 record over their last 18 contests.
However, the hosts should have a clear edge in net, which is why I’m predicting another victory for the Flames. Calgary owns a .905 team SV%, tied for the eighth-best mark in the NHL, while the Predators sit 22nd at .892.
Starting goalies haven’t been named, but Dustin Wolf and Juuse Saros are expected to go head-to-head. Wolf posted a .924 SV% through 11 games in December, while Saros has been lacklustre this season with an .897 SV%.

Predators vs Flames same-game parlay
Nazem Kadri snapped a four-game pointless drought on Wednesday, and he’ll keep it rolling with another point against Nashville. Kadri leads the Flames with 32 points in 40 games, and he’ll break through a Preds defense that ranks fifth-last in the NHL (3.33 goals against per game).
Steven Stamkos found his groove in December, scoring 12 goals and 17 points in 14 games. He’s hit the scoresheet in seven of his last nine outings and will lead the Predators’ attack tonight.
