The season is on the line for the St. Louis Blues, as they host the Winnipeg Jets in Game 6 at the Enterprise Center on Friday, May 2.

It’s been a back-and-forth series with the home team winning each of the first five games, and here are my top NHL picks and Jets vs. Blues props for tonight’s Round 1 showdown.

Best Jets vs Blues props

  • Red Wings Snuggerud Over 0.5 points (+125)
  • Red Wings Faulk Over 1.5 shots on goal (+105)
  • Red Wings Fowler Under 0.5 points (-125)

Jets vs Blues player props for May 2

Jimmy Snuggerud Over 0.5 points (+125 at BET99)

It’s been a nice run for St. Louis Blues rookie Jimmy Snuggerud since joining Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich on the No. 1 line in Game 2. The rookie has marked the scoresheet in three of four games, and the trio has clicked for a rock-solid 55.1 Corsi For percentage and 54.9 expected goals percentage at five-on-five.

All three are also on the No. 1 power-play unit, and Snuggerud is quickly proving why he was a first-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Finally, the Winnipeg Jets are obviously a tough matchup after allowing the fewest goals per game in the regular season, but that’s more than built into this price.

Justin Faulk Over 1.5 shots on goal (+105 at BET99)

St. Louis Blues veteran defenseman Justin Faulk has two or more shots in four of the first five Round 1 games, and he’s averaging a healthy 21:32 of ice time, including 2:07 per with the man advantage. The 33-year-old defenseman is also lining up in the offensive zone for 65.7% of his faceoffs, and Faulk has also rarely matched up against the top Winnipeg Jets skaters at five-on-five.

With Winnipeg a win away from advancing to Round 2, I’m anticipating St. Louis making it a priority to put pucks on net early and often, and especially after registering just 19 total in Game 5.

Cam Fowler Under 0.5 points (-125 at BET99)

St. Louis Blues defenseman Cam Fowler has piled up a goal, eight assists, and five power-play points through five games for an incredible 5.31 points per 60 minutes in Round 1. On top of those eye-popping numbers, there’s also nothing sustainable about him being on the ice for 6.49 goals per 60 and a 20.8 team shooting percentage, given the Blues have only generated 2.96 expected goals across his 101:46 of ice time in Round 1.

Of course, the Winnipeg Jets haven’t played to their usual defensive standard this series, either. After allowing a league-low 2.32 goals per game during the regular season, Winnipeg has surrendered 3.8 per game to the Blues during the playoffs. Starting goalie Connor Hellebuyck’s .822 save percentage in the postseason is also way below his .925 regular-season mark.
