The Calgary Flames will look to cap off 2025 in style and beat  the Philadelphia Flyers at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Wednesday, December 31.

My Flyers vs. Flames predictions and NHL picks expect Dustin Wolf to remain lights out on home ice and lead the way to a seventh straight win in Cowtown tonight.

Flyers vs Flames prediction

Flyers vs Flames best bet: Flames moneyline (-140)

Not only do the Calgary Flames draw the Philadelphia Flyers on the second leg of a back-to-back road set, but I’m also anticipating Philly backup Samuel Ersson to patrol the blue paint tonight.

It sets up a major mismatch in the creases, too.

Ersson sports a career .886 SV% across 124 appearances, and he’s been even worse this season with an .886 mark with just 0.45 goals saved above expected through 14 games.

At the other end of the rink, Calgary No. 1 Dustin Wolf has been automatic on home ice, posting six consecutive wins while posting an elite .939 SV% and 1.66 GAA. Of course, he also went 20-8-4 with respective .921 and 2.33 marks at the Scotiabank Saddledome last season.

The Flames are also off to an 11-5-2 start at home with above-average rates in Corsi For percentage and expected goals percentage at 5-on-5, while the Flyers rank 24th and 20th in the two metrics on the highway.

Flyers vs Flames same-game parlay

Both the Flyers and Flames rank below average in goals per game and expected goals against per 60 minutes at 5-on-5. Plus, as noted, Calgary has been uber stingy on home ice all season.

Turning to the final leg of this same-game parlay, Calgary defenseman Rasmus Andersson is ripe to record two or more shots. He’s been held to a single tally in the shots column in four consecutive games despite racking up a respectable 16 attempts.

Considering he recorded three or more shots in each of the prior seven games for 30 total on 63 attempts, I’m anticipating more attempts being converted into shots tonight.
