Getting on the other side of Thanksgiving is a feather in the cap for anyone playing in an NFL Survivor Pool.

There are just five weeks of football left, so hopefully you’ve been strategic with your NFL picks and have some heavy hitters to lean on in the home stretch of the schedule.

The Week 14 board could be a tough one if you’re strapped for a steady squad to lean on, considering nine games currently have point spreads shorter than a touchdown.

I share my top NFL Survivor Pool pick for Week 14 and highlight the “safest” selection based on the latest NFL odds.

Best survivor pool bets for Week 14

Broncos My pick: Denver Broncos

Opponent: at Las Vegas Raiders

Moneyline odds: -425 (80.95% implied win probability)

There are some concerning factors for the Denver Broncos in Week 14.

For one, this team continues to play to the level of its competition, leading to four straight games being decided by a field goal or less. Denver has given poolies IBS with all its close games in 2025.

This Sunday will also be the Broncos’ second straight road game and comes against a divisional opponent, which is normally a red flag for me. But when that opponent is the Las Vegas Raiders, the flags don’t fly as high.

Vegas is in freefall, having lost six in a row. The Raiders' offense is an absolute mess, and Geno Smith has absorbed an amount of punishment normally reserved for tackling dummies. He’s been sacked 25 times (double checks stats…) — 25 F-ING TIMES! — in the past four games, including six sacks from the Broncos in Week 10.

Now, you may be worried about that Week 10 matchup, in which Denver barely got by with an ugly 10-7 win over the Silver & Black. However, let's not forget that it was a Thursday game, which tends to breed weirdo results.

If you still have the Broncos as a survivor option, Week 14 may be the best time to use them. After this trip to Sin City, Denver takes on Green Bay, Jacksonville, Kansas City, and the L.A. Chargers — all of which are also pushing for the playoffs.

Buccaneers Safest pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Opponent: vs. New Orleans Saints

Moneyline odds: -500 (83.33% implied win probability)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting healthier on offense, and this defense is starting to ramp up the pass rush, which comes in handy against a rookie QB in Week 14. Todd Bowles' blitz-heavy schemes set their sights on Tyler Shough and a feeble New Orleans Saints O-line.

While the NFL odds pegged the Buccaneers as the biggest favorite this weekend, it may not be smooth sailing for anyone taking Tampa Bay in the pool. This team has a bad habit of losing steam in the fourth quarter, and with a Thursday game on deck in Week 15, the Bucs could take their foot off the gas in the final frame — making things a little tighter than they should be.

Tampa Bay holds value from here out. It has some challenging games versus Carolina (twice) and Miami, but the Bucs should be a favorite in each of the final five contests of 2025.
