The biggest threat to your NFL Survivor Pool picks in Week 13 is the Thanksgiving holiday.
In the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving, so many poolies are either stretched thin due to family commitments, not able to put in the research, or they just flat out forget to make their selection.
Don’t be that person.
While I can’t pick up your in-laws from the airport or take the turkey out of the deep freeze, I’m here to help with my best survivor pool pick for Week 13 as well as the “safest” selection, according to the NFL odds.
Best survivor pool bets for Week 13
Los Angeles Chargers
Seattle Seahawks

My pick: Los Angeles Chargers
Opponent: vs. Las Vegas Raiders
Moneyline odds: -550 (84.62% implied win probability)
Counting down until the long weekend? That’s how the Los Angeles Chargers felt heading into their bye in Week 12.
Los Angeles was one of the most injury-riddled rosters this season, but emerges from that hiatus the healthiest it’s been since the start of the schedule. The Bolts are set up for a strong push toward the postseason, starting with a home date against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Las Vegas is the worst team in the NFL right now. The Silver and Black have lost five straight games and just fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly after losing to Cleveland at home last weekend. That shakeup won’t be a quick fix, as Geno Smith is notoriously bad versus zone schemes — something L.A. runs at a Top 3 rate.
Divisional games can be more competitive, but this is a good week to use Los Angeles if you still have the option. Beyond Las Vegas, the Chargers take on Philadelphia, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, and Denver — all of which are pushing for the playoffs.

Safest bet: Seattle Seahawks
Opponent: vs. Minnesota Vikings
Moneyline odds: -600 (85.71% implied win probability)
The Seattle Seahawks got a little scare at Tennessee last week, but return home for a must-win matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Seattle is in a three-horse race in the NFC West, with the Rams and 49ers also winning in Week 12.
The Vikings are about to pull the plug on the season, or at least QB J.J. McCarthy. He’ll likely sit out Week 13 due to a “concussion” that was discovered on the flight home from Green Bay. But it really sounds like he’s come down with a case of the “sucks”.
In his place, Minnesota sacrifices undrafted rookie Max Brosmer to face one of the best defenses in the league. The Seahawks are second in pressure rate, fourth in total sacks, and sixth in pass rush win rate at ESPN. Oh, and the Vikings could be both starters on the left side of the o-line.
Pray for Brosmer and pick the Seahawks.
