Early Saints vs Titans spread pick: Saints -3
The New Orleans Saints may still be five games below .500, but they’ve been playing quality football. Sunday marked the Saints’ third straight win, hammering the lowly New York Jets, 29-6. Rookie QB Tyler Shough is starting to show serious potential.
NOLA’s last road game happened to be in Tampa, where they managed to upset a good Buccaneers team. Yes, the Tennessee Titans also just beat the Kansas City Chiefs, but they were literally playing with a third-string quarterback that practically no one knew for most of the game.
I’ll ride the Saints to cover the 3-point spread. All of their wins in this unbeaten run have been by at least a field goal.
Early Saints vs Titans total pick: Over 38.5
We’re looking at two teams that don’t score the football a whole lot. The Saints are 29th in ppg with 17 per game, while the Titans are averaging just 16.7.
However, New Orleans has scored 20 or more points in three in a row. They’re also up against a Titans defense that is allowing 26.9 points per contest.
The Saints’ defense is playing a lot better, but Tennessee will also have a little more confidence after their Week 16 performance.
We’ll see points here. With a total as low as 38.5, the Over screams value.
