A pair of winning teams with postseason aspirations will hit Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday, October 19, with the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the Los Angeles Rams.
My Rams vs. Jaguars predictions and favorite NFL picks are calling for Jacksonville to keep it close and cover the number, while Los Angeles running back Kyren Williams leaves his mark on the box score.
Our best Rams vs Jaguars SGP for Week 7
The No. 1 reason I’m siding with the Jacksonville Jaguars is because Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua (ankle) is expected to miss this Week 7 showdown, and I expect Los Angeles to be far easier to game plan for and match up against.
Nacua was leading the NFL in targets and PFF receiving grade through the first five games of the year, after all.
Jacksonville is also far more experienced playing internationally, with 13 international games since 2013, while Los Angeles has three during the same stretch.
The Nacua injury should translate into the Rams turning to No. 1 running back Kyren Williams early and often against the Jags.
Jacksonville sports middling ranks in PFF run defense grade (12th), run defense DVOA (13th), and schedule-adjusted run defense (16th), while also ranking 14th in both yards and EPA allowed per rush. They haven’t faced an intimidating run of opposing rushers to start the year, either.
So, I also value the Los Angeles offensive line ranking first in PFF run block grade and 12th in run block win rate, while Jacksonville checks in with a 27th-ranked run stop win rate.
Finally, Williams has scored in 16 of 22 games dating back to the beginning of last season, and he’s also combined for 22 red-zone rushes and targets through six weeks this year.
