Early Jets vs Titans spread pick: Titans -1.5
I like the Tennessee Titans to get the job done at home in Week 1, but not by much.
Robert Saleh gets to face his ex-employer, and Tennessee’s defense should be prepared to make life difficult for a New York Jets offense that does not profile as especially explosive. On the other side, Cam Ward gives the Titans more playmaking upside, and rookie wideout Carnell Tate could provide another dangerous weapon for his quarterback.
I don’t expect this to be a runaway, but Tennessee has the cleaner offensive ceiling and home-field edge. In a tight game, I'll lay the small number with the Titans and would play this up to 55%.

I’m leaning Under 38.5. Tennessee has more offensive upside with Ward under center, but this is still a young quarterback in Week 1 against a Jets defense that got better over the offseason.
On the other side, New York has some playmakers, but their offense still needs to prove it can consistently finish drives.
Both teams struggled immensely to score points last season, and this matchup does not profile as one with a ton of clean explosive-play paths. With both offenses likely trying to avoid early mistakes, this could turn into a conservative game.
