Seahawks SNF computer picks

Sam Darnold Under 243.5 passing yards (-112)

Projection: 236.1 yards

Sam Darnold was on fire in the four games leading up to Houston’s Monday night game against the Texans on Oct. 20. The Seattle Seahawks QB had a relative clunker of a game against Houston, throwing for just 213 yards. He had 1 TD and 1 INT and finished the game with a 73.7 passer rating.

Glory days should be here again for Darnold as he faces a mediocre, at best, Washington Commanders pass defense.

Right out of the shoot, the computer and I disagree. I’ll take Darnold Over 243.5 yards.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 90.5 receiving yards

Projection: 91.8 receiving yards

I typically hate banking on any WR going Over 90 yards in any game. It’s just such a ridiculously high number.

That said, Jaxon Smith-Njigba has more than warranted this type of respect from the books. He has gone Over 90.5 yards in six of seven games played this season, including Over 123 yards in each of his last three outings.

I’ll agree with the computer here and take the JSN Over.

Kenneth Walker III Over 51.5 rushing yards (-112)

Projection: 64.2 yards

The Washington rush defense is average, as it is 16th in the NFL in defensive rushing DVOA. Kenneth Walker has been an average RB this season, rushing for 61.4 yards per game.

In this "mid" battle, I like for Walker to come out on top. Lead running backs have gone Over 51.5 yards in each of the last three games against the Washington defense.

Will agree with the computer once again.

AJ Barner Over 2.5 receptions (-108)

Projection: 2.6 receptions

AJ Barner’s target rate has been a little erratic this season. His season high was seven and his season low was one. In between, there have been a bunch of games with three targets.

In his most recent game, Barner was targeted three times but had just one catch. Not sure that Darnold has much trust in his tight end just yet.

I’ll go against the computer and take Under 2.5 receptions.

Commanders SNF computer picks

Jayden Daniels Over 221.5 passing yards (-115)

Projection: 244.5 passing yards

Jayden Daniels has played in five games so far this season. Here are his yardage totals per game:

  • vs. New York Giants: 233 passing yards
  • vs. Green Bay Packers: 200 passing yards
  • vs. LA Chargers: 231 passing yards
  • vs. Chicago Bears: 211 passing yards
  • vs. Dallas Cowboys: 156 passing yards

Daniels is now facing a Seattle defense that ranks fourth in the NFL in Def Passing DVOA.

Me and the computer are going to have to have a “Prop Pickers Only” meeting after today. It’s rough out here. I like the Under.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt Over 43.5 rushing yards (-110)

Projection: 60.7 yards

I think I’m going to be liking a lot of these Washington Unders, as I have the utmost respect for Mike Macdonald’s defense.

The Seattle D is No. 1 in the NFL in rush yards allowed. Jacory Croskey-Merritt has not exactly lit it up against inferior defenses lately, as he garnered just 25 yards on the ground against the Chiefs last week, and just 33 yards rushing the week prior against Dallas.

I really like the Under here. My computer bud, of course, loves the Over.

Deebo Samuel Over 5.5 receptions (+105)

Projection: 6.22 receptions

I would not like the Deebo Samuel receiving yardage total, but we are talking straight-up catches here.

In the Commanders’ last win, a 27-10 takedown of the Chargers, Samuel was targeted 11 times and had eight catches. I like for Daniels to look Deebo’s way a lot in this one.

Finally, we agree! I like the Over as well.

Zach Ertz Over 33.5 receiving yards (-111)

Projection: 41.8 yards

Zach Ertz is averaging just 30.6 receiving yards per game this season. It’s been tough sledding for the 34-year-old, and I don’t like this to improve against this stout Seattle unit.

I’ll wrap things up with one more disagreement with my computer buddy and take the Under.
