Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime gets a preseason kickoff tonight in the Meadowlands with one final dress rehearsal before the NFL regular season between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.

It is unlikely we see any key starters, but Underdog Fantasy has you covered with plenty of prop options for the backups.

Here are my top three NFL player prop picks for the Patriots vs. Giants on Thursday, August 21.

Patriots vs Giants props

  • Giants Dart higher than 0.5 passing TDs
  • Giants Humphrey higher than 18.5 receiving yards
  • Patriots Jiles higher than 23.5 receiving yards

Jaxson Dart 0.5 passing TDs: HIGHER (Play at Underdog)

The rookie quarterback has been extremely impressive in his first two preseason games this year. In his debut, he was 12/19 passing for 154 yards and a touchdown. Last week, he was 14/16 passing for 137 yards and a touchdown.

In each of those games, Jaxson Dart was the second quarterback to enter behind Russell Wilson. That means he will likely get the start in this game, and I would think he plays at least a full quarter, if not a full half since he will not be the Week 1 starter and reps are crucial for rookies.

Dart might not play enough to hit his yardage total, but I feel very confident he will get a touchdown drive before exiting.

Lil’Jordan Humphrey 18.5 receiving yards: HIGHER (Play at Underdog)

The veteran wide receiver is competing for that backup spot to Malik Nabers with undrafted rookie, Beaux Collins. Last week, Collins caught an 80-yard bomb from Wilson playing with the starters. Now Lil’Jordan Humphrey needs to answer back.

The good news is Humphrey has seen a lot of targets in the preseason thus far. He caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown on four targets in the first week and caught three passes for 20 yards on four targets last week.

The New England Patriots have allowed five different receivers in each of their two preseason games to reach at least 19 yards. As one of the leading receivers in targets in the preseason for the New York Giants, I would expect Humphrey to be another on this list.

John Jiles 23.5 receiving yards: HIGHER (Play at Underdog)

While Efton Chism has been a standout amongst a large group of young wideouts for the Patriots. The undrafted rookie is unlikely to play due to missing the last two practices with an injury. That leaves plenty of opportunities for John Jiles to try and make this roster.

Jiles had two catches for 28 yards on two targets in the first week and four catches for 24 yards on five targets last week. Chism had 12 catches for 121 yards on 14 targets in those two games from the slot.

Those extra targets and catches that Chism was bringing in from the slot can easily be shifted to Jiles this week. Even without those extra opportunities, he hit this number in each of the last two games.
