The Green Bay Packers host the Detroit Lions as home favorites to kick off the 2025 season. Detroit took both games last season, including a back-and-forth 34-31 victory in December.

Lions anytime touchdown pick
David Montgomery (+130 at FanDuel)
The Detroit Lions have a two-headed attack in the backfield with Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. Gibbs had been the lead back in terms of carries and touchdowns, but Montgomery has been able to get his fair share as well.
Montgomery had 185 carries for 775 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. While Gibbs received 46% of the rush attempts to Montgomery’s 34% overall, that split was closer in the red zone, where there was just one carry separating the two backs.
The veteran back has been a thorn in the Packers’ side with seven touchdowns -- a personal best -- against Green Bay in 11 games, which includes finding the end zone in three of the last four meetings in the past two seasons.
Both backs are solid bets to find paydirt in Week 1 against the Packers, but we’re getting +130 odds on Montgomery rather than -130 on Gibbs.
Packers anytime touchdown pick
Josh Jacobs (-175 at FanDuel)
The Green Bay Packers signed Josh Jacobs in the 2024 offseason and immediately put him to work last season. He had a career-high 15 rushing touchdowns while also securing the first receiving score of his career.
Jacobs' 16 touchdowns were by far the most on the Packers. In fact, he had more than the next two highest combined, as Tucker Kraft and Jayden Reed each had seven scores.
The running back racked up 95 yards on the ground in his first game against the Lions last season, but did not find paydirt. That changed in the second meeting, though, as Jacobs scored three times in the high-scoring affair.
Overall, Jacobs found the end zone in 11 of 17 games last season, including eight straight to end the year. The Packers will continue to lean on him as they open the 2025 campaign.
