The 3-3 Washington Commanders will look to move above .500 when they visit the 2-3-1 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
Both teams have struggled to find their rhythm early in the season, but they’ll look to get back on track in this NFC East showdown.
Here are my best Commanders vs. Cowboys anytime touchdown picks for Sunday, October 19.
Commanders anytime touchdown pick
Luke McCaffrey (+210 at FanDuel)
Luke McCaffrey is far from a high-volume target for Jayden Daniels, but he’s found his way to the endzone three times over the last four weeks. Though McCaffrey’s targets haven’t jumped since Terry McLaurin has been sidelined, McLaurin’s fourth consecutive absence on Sunday will be nonetheless beneficial.
The Dallas Cowboys' passing defense has been atrocious this season, and that’s describing it in the nicest terms. The Cowboys have surrendered the most passing yards per game (269.5), the second-most passing touchdowns per game (2.5), the fourth-most missed tackles (46), the third-most yards per play (6.2), and the third-most yards after the catch (817).
Dallas can get burned by big plays, and what McCaffrey has lacked in volume, he’s more than made up for with explosiveness. He has just seven catches over the last four weeks, but one went for 50 yards, one went for 33 yards and a score, and another went for 43 yards and a score.
I’ll take a shot on a long McCaffrey touchdown at Jerry’s World.
Cowboys anytime touchdown pick
CeeDee Lamb (+120 at FanDuel)
CeeDee Lamb has been cleared to play on Sunday after missing the last three weeks with an ankle injury that he sustained in Week 3 against the Bears. Washington has allowed the 10th-most passing yards per game this season, providing a favorable matchup for Lamb in his return.
Lamb was cooking over the first two weeks of the season, reeling in 16 targets for 222 yards on 24 targets. He failed to find the endzone in either of those contests, but the volume and yards should certainly be there for Dak Prescott’s top target.
From 2022-24, Lamb scored 27 times in 49 games. That includes four of five games against Washington, in which he hit paydirt five times. I expect him to keep up his strong play against the division rival in Week 7.
