Best Chargers vs Broncos Same Game Parlay for Week 18

The Chargers may be resting Justin Herbert and other starters, but the Broncos don't blow opponents out. Plus, Trey Lance can do enough damage with his arm against a Denver offense that's been sagging in recent weeks.

The Los Angeles Chargers are resting multiple key starters on offense and defense this week, so it isn’t surprising to see the Denver Broncos trading as a huge favorite with a win also clinching the top seed in the AFC.

Still, sports bettors have plenty to look forward to in this AFC West showdown at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, January 4, and my top same-game parlay, NFL picks, and Chargers vs. Broncos predictions have you covered for the action.

Chargers vs Broncos same-game parlay

Even with the Los Angeles Chargers likely resting several key starters on both sides of the ball, this is a monster spread for a divisional game, and there is a wide-open opportunity for a backdoor cover if the Denver Broncos do jump out to a healthy lead.

The Broncos have also failed to cover the spread as a touchdown or greater favorite in five consecutive games, too.

I expect Denver to put up points early Sunday afternoon with the chance to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Still, I also expect the Los Angeles players to be plenty motivated with an opportunity of their own to show they can hang at the highest level.

The Chargers have also played to the Over in 13 of their past 24 games, and this is the lowest total of the season for Los Angeles and tied for the lowest for Denver.

I also have confidence that backup Chargers quarterback Trey Lance can go Over this pedestrian passing yards total.

The Broncos have allowed 200 or more passing yards in 11 of 16 games, and Lance will also have ample chemistry with fellow Los Angeles backups being called upon this week.

It’s also notable that Denver ranked a below-average 19th in EPA per dropback in Week 7 through Week 16.

I expect Lance to have garbage-time opportunities to clear the benchmark, too.
