The Washington Commanders may be getting Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin back, but that won't do much against this Denver squad.

The Denver Broncos make their way to the nation’s capital for a Sunday Night Football showdown with the Washington Commanders in Week 13.

Both teams are fresh from a bye week, which was especially vital for Washington. It might get back quarterback Jayden Daniels as well as standout WR Terry McClaurin, which would alter the odds for this prime-time contest.

Regardless, my early Broncos vs. Commanders predictions and NFL picks back Denver to cover on November 30.

Broncos vs Commanders predictions

Here are our early thoughts on the spread and total for this week’s game. We will have a full game preview (with a best bet and SGP) later in the week.

Early SNF spread pick: Denver Broncos -6.5

-115 at FanDuel

This spread opened just shy of the key number of a touchdown with the Denver Broncos -6.5 padded by the vig. Oddsmakers are waiting for updates on the Washington Commanders' injuries, and this spread will jump to a touchdown and beyond if Daniels and/or McLaurin are ruled out.

Even if Daniels is healthy enough to return from a gruesome elbow injury, should Washington risk further issues against one of the most aggressive pass rushes in the NFL? The Broncos are among the defensive elite and top the league in pressure rate.

If you like Denver, this may be as good as it gets. Washington has lost six straight outings, and Daniels’ return isn’t enough to balance the shortcomings on this D.C. defense. The Commanders sit near the bottom in all the defensive metrics, including explosive plays.

Allowing those “home runs” is a back breaker, especially if Washington’s offense still has Marcus Mariota under center on SNF.

Early SNF total pick: Under 43.5

-110 at FanDuel

Bookies are playing it safe with this total, parking it between the key Over/Under stops of 44 and 43 points. Much like the spread, updates on the Commanders’ skill players will dictate where this one goes.

The Broncos offense isn’t blowing away opponents, with QB Bo Nix averaging just 4.8 completed air yards per attempt — seventh lowest among qualified quarterbacks.

Denver has put up scores of 22, 10, and 18 in the previous three games, albeit two of those contests came against Kansas City and Houston (the other way a weird TNF game with Las Vegas).

Defensively, the Broncos' pass pressure forces foes to get rid of the ball quickly. That’s limited downfield looks, with Denver allowing the fourth fewest completions of 20+ yards on the season.

This talented stop unit, which ranks No. 1 in EPA allowed per dropback, could also have starters CB Patrick Surtain and LB Alex Singleton back for Week 13.
