49ers vs Seahawks Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for NFC Divisional Round

Familiarity and an inconsistent Seahawks' offense open the door for San Francisco to cover this touchdown spread.

The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers battle for the second time in three weeks when these NFC West rivals meet in the NFC Divisional Round on January 17.

Seattle earned a bye week with a 13-3 road win at San Francisco in Week 18, earning the No. 1 seed in the NFC. My early 49ers vs. Seahawks predictions and NFL picks expect the Niners to fare better on Saturday.

Early 49ers vs Seahawks spread pick: 49ers +7

-102 at FanDuel

The look-ahead line for this NFC West trilogy was Seattle Seahawks -5.5 before the events of the Wild Card Round.

But with the San Francisco 49ers losing star TE George Kittle to an Achilles injury and having to travel on a short week, the official opener ranged between -6.5 and -7.5 on Sunday night.

A market consensus boiled down to a touchdown as of Monday morning, but we’re seeing softer vig on San Francisco +7 and that could indicate a possible move to +7.5 later in the week.

Given the injury news and results from Week 18, you can see why action would be backing the well-rested home team on the quick turnaround for San Francisco. Should this spread get to Seattle -7.5, I would consider the 49ers.

The Seahawks' defense is elite, but the offense has run hot and cold down the home stretch, with quarterback Sam Darnold coming back to earth.

Familiarity works in favor of the underdog, and there are few secrets in the third meeting of these divisional foes.

Early 49ers vs Seahawks total pick: Under 45.5

-108 at FanDuel

This Over/Under opened at 46.5 points and quickly shrank with early action on the Under. Some books had this total as low as 44 points but a market consensus of 45.5 has settled in on Monday morning.

Seattle is more than happy to grind out a low-scoring finish, much like the results of Week 18. The Seahawks defense limited the 49ers to just nine first downs and 173 total yards while the offense played keep-away — running 39 times for almost 38 minutes of possession.

The Niners' defense did well in Philadelphia in the Wild Card Round, checking the Eagles’ attempts at explosive plays. The 49ers are a passive stop unit that doesn’t bring pressure and keeps everything in front of it.

I do expect a better offensive effort from Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers than what we got in Week 18, but getting Over 46 points could be a tall task in Lumen Field — especially missing Kittle’s run block and pass catching on key downs.
