Jones has excelled stepping in for Purdy over the past three games, guiding the Niners to victory each time. His most recent performance against the Rams was particularly impressive, as he threw for 342 yards and two touchdowns in a 26-23 overtime win.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers rank near the bottom of the league in multiple passing metrics: 31st in opponent success rate per dropback, 29th in EPA allowed per dropback, and 25th in pass defense DVOA at FTN. Tampa's struggles are further compounded by injuries to starting corners Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum, while several backups carry questionable designations.
Coming off a massive win over Seattle on the West Coast, Todd Bowles' team now faces a potential trap game as 3.5-point favorites, especially with a look-ahead matchup looming in Detroit next week.
