It’s the first of two meetings between the Washington State Cougars and Oregon State Beavers that will determine the Pac-12’s final champion, as these two programs are the last remaining members of the conference.

The Cougars enter as 3.5-point road favorites in the latest college football odds—a somewhat surprising line considering Oregon State has managed just one win this season and is coming off a week in which the program parted ways with its head coach.

Our Washington State vs. Oregon State predictions and college football picks will roll with the road favorites on Saturday, November 1.

Washington State vs Oregon State prediction

Washington State vs Oregon State best bet: Washington State -3.5 (-118)

The Washington State Cougars haven’t had a particularly good season, but after playing both the Mississippi Rebels and Virginia Cavaliers tight in losses, they finally got a win last time out by dumping Toledo 28-7. That evened their record at 4-4 heading into this biggie on Saturday.

The Cougars’ strength has been defense, as they’re inside the Top 40 in passing yards allowed, and rank 42nd in total yards at 336.2. They are allowing 24.6 points per game, but they’ve been even stingier of late, allowing an average of just 16 points per game.

There’s a far different story brewing on the other side of the field, where the Oregon State Beavers started the year 0-7, leading to the firing of head coach Trent Bray.

The early returns were good under interim boss Robb Akey, but their first win of the year was against FCS-level Lafayette.

Oregon State ranks outside the Top 120 in the nation in points allowed, an average of 32.8 per contest. They are getting shredded through the air to the tune of 259.8 yards per game, while getting gashed for 152.9 yards on the ground.

The only reason this has some intrigue is because of Washington State’s offensive struggles (21.5 points per game), and the fact that anything can happen in one-off tilts that have a ton riding on it.

In the end, the Cougars are a far better squad that will take care of business with that small line.

Washington State vs Oregon State same-game parlay

Washington State’s defense will play a major role in the Under hitting, as they’ve helped preserve it in four straight games.

The Cougars haven’t been great starters this year, taking a two-point lead or greater after the opening quarter just twice in eight games this season, but the opponent makes this a must add-on to a parlay.

Oregon State has found itself trailing after the first quarter five times in their eight tilts, including two of the last three games. On four occasions, it’s been by at least a touchdown.

Washington State vs Oregon State game predictions

Washington State vs Oregon State moneyline prediction

There’s no statistical case to be made to justify taking the Beavers at +162 on the moneyline. Oregon State has lost by double-digits five times already this season.

The Cougars have won eight of their last 10 overall.

Washington State vs Oregon State spread prediction

Despite just a 2-2 record over their last four, the Cougars have gone 4-0 against the spread.

The Beavers have been an underdog in six of eight games this year, and have a record of 1-4-1 ATS.

Washington State vs Oregon State Over/Under prediction

Oregon State has combined with its opponents to score 47 points or more in all eight games. But in their seven losses, the Beavers have only cracked the 20-point plateau three times.
