Washington State vs Mississippi prediction

Washington State vs Mississippi best bet: Mississippi -33.5 (-105)

The Mississippi Rebels have too much depth and physicality and should overwhelm the Washington State Cougars from the opening series.

The Rebels have faced a far tougher schedule (LSU, Arkansas, Kentucky) while Wazzu has been lit up by every Power Five offense it’s faced, surrendering 59 points twice already.

Mississippi ranks Top 25 nationally in pass defense and allows just 18.6 points per game, while Washington State’s offense gives up 5.4 tackles for loss per game and converts only 39% on third down.

Offensively, Trinidad Chambliss continues to evolve under Lane Kiffin’s aggressive system, complemented by Kewan Lacy's downhill running, and hosts a Cougars front seven giving up 150 rushing yards per game.

Expect Kiffin to push tempo and keep his starters rolling well into the second half. They’ll hog the time of possession and force WSU’s defense into exhaustion because that’s what they do.

With Mississippi dominating both trenches and boasting superior athletes on every level, the Rebels should comfortably cover even this inflated number in a decisive home rout.

Washington State vs Mississippi same-game parlay

Washington State’s offensive line can’t handle Mississippi’s front seven, leading to constant pressure, drive-killing tackles for loss, and the Cougars will struggle to reach double digits.

However, Kiffin’s relentless tempo and big-play offense should pile up points against a worn-down defense, pushing the game Over even as Washington State fails to do its part.
