Let 2024 be the exception that proves the rule that you should never trust a Josh Heupel defense.
The Tennessee Volunteers reached last year’s College Football Playoff thanks to a dominant defensive front. The Oklahoma Sooners are about to remind the world that the Volunteers now lack that strength, as Heupel always had.
My Oklahoma vs. Tennessee predictions expect an upset from the road underdog at kickoff.

Our best Oklahoma vs Tennessee SGP for Week 10
The Tennessee Volunteers rank 14th in the SEC in expected points added (EPA) per snap against, per CFB-graphs.com, as well as No. 14 in the SEC in EPA per rush against.
Enter the Oklahoma Sooners' run game, not the most dominant aspect of this game, but certainly one that opponents have to account for.
The Sooners should lean on their ground game, and that should heavily feature Xavier Robinson.
The sophomore running back has emerged in the last two weeks, taking 20 carries for 167 yards and three touchdowns, compared to his total of three rushes for seven yards against Oklahoma’s first three Power Four opponents.
Robinson may not continue at his recent rates, but he should absolutely be a complementary piece to workhorse Tory Blaylock.
That combination, plus John Mateer’s continued return to health, should propel the Sooners past this modest Team Total in an upset win.
