Ohio State QB pick: Julian Sayin Under 1.5 passing touchdowns
Julian Sayin struggled in matchups against top defenses in 2025, failing to throw multiple touchdowns in all three of Ohio State's matchups against top-10 ranked programs. In those games against Texas, Indiana, and Miami, Sayin threw only three TDs and had as many costly interceptions.
In last year's season opener, Sayin was held to just one score on 126 passing yards against the Longhorns. Sayin will face a tougher challenge this time around, playing on the road against an experienced Texas defense.
The Longhorns have the ability to get pressure up front with veteran pass-rushers. The secondary unit looks much better in 2026 than it did last fall, when it allowed too many explosive plays.

Texas QB pick: Arch Manning Under 1.5 passing touchdowns
After losing safety Caleb Downs and corner Davison Igbinosun to the draft this past summer, some pundits have forecasted defensive regression for the Buckeyes' pass defense.
However, the secondary looked strong in the team's season opener, holding Grambling State quarterback Keldric Luse to 18-for-33 passing and only 89 yards through the air.
Ohio State held Arch Manning to 170 passing yards and only one passing TD last fall when these programs met in Columbus, proving they have the blueprint to slow down the Texas passing attack.
