The Oregon Ducks may not win the Big Ten title in back-to-back seasons, but another trip to the College Football Playoff is on the horizon, and the Ducks will look to polish up their résumé by rumbling all over an inferior opponent when the Minnesota Golden Gophers come to Eugene.

I’ve crafted an SGP that believes in big games for the Ducks' backs which will in turn will carry this matchup Over the total.

And for a full breakdown and even more college football picks on this Big Ten battle, check out my Minnesota vs. Oregon predictions.

Our best Minnesota vs Oregon SGP for Week 12

The Oregon Ducks have won three in a row since its upset loss to Indiana, thanks to its elite running game. The trio of Noah Whittington, Dierre Hill Jr, and Jordon Davison have the Ducks leading the nation in offensive success rate on rushes and EPA per rush. I’m betting Oregon leans on that ground game in this one.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers enter this game with a solid 6-3 record, which includes a win over Nebraska and has been powered mostly by a strong defense. But they have struggled in their biggest games. They gave up 41 points to Iowa, and 42 points to Ohio State. Both of those games were also on the road.

And you can run on the Gophers, who rank 81st in success rate vs. the rush and 63rd in opponent EPA per rush.

Oregon’s run game is explosive enough for the Ducks to also put up a 40-burger in this game. While Minnesota’s offense should be able to put up at least one score to send this Over what is a relatively low total.

Well, we spoke about the Ducks’ elite ground game so, let’s put our money where our mouth is by taking both Noah Whittingham and Jordon Davison to go Over their rushing yard props.

Whittingham is the veteran more explosive back of this dynamic duo. He has carried the ball 42 times for 340 yards over the last three games. That’s 8.1 yards per carry and he has rushed for at least 97 in each of those games.

Davison on the other hand, is a bruising freshman who has rumbled over opponents this season. He’s gone for 313 yards on 36 attempts over his last four games. Davison has topped 52 yards in all four games.

Whittingham Over 80.5 yards and Davison Over 51.5 yards both look like great bets in this matchup.
