The Georgia Bulldogs and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played the game of the year last season. An eight-overtime thriller, which the Dawgs eventually pulled out 44-42.

This time around, the Yellow Jackets are desperate for a signature win. Can they finish the job this season and upset their in-state rivals? Or will the Bulldogs prove too much once again? I’ve built an SGP that, at the very least, says the Yellow Jackets still have some fight in them.

Our best Georgia vs Georgia Tech SGP for Week 14

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets need a lot of things to go their way this weekend, and a huge win over the Georgia Bulldogs sure wouldn’t hurt their cause. Can the Yellow Jackets pull that off with the current state of their defense? I’m not sure.

One thing I'm sure of is that dual-threat quarterback Haynes King will give it his all. With him under center, the Yellow Jackets have one of the best offenses in the country. They enter this game ranked ninth in success rate and 24th in EPA per play.

King should rely more on his arm against a Georgia defense that's solid, but isn’t of the same caliber as the ones from years past. The Bulldogs can be attacked through the air, ranking 55th in success rate on dropbacks. That should, in turn, open things up for the Georgia Tech running game.

Georgia Tech may not win this game, but King & Co. will put up a fight and cash this team total Over.

Either way, the Yellow Jackets are at their best when King is rumbling. That will be made easier if he can move the ball through the air against this Georgia defense. That should then open up some running lanes for him as well.

His rushing prop is a modest 66.5 against a solid Georgia run defense, but he’s easily eclipsed this number in seven of his 10 games played this season, and he ran for 110 yards against the Dawgs in last season’s epic battle.

Meanwhile, Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton has tossed 19 touchdown passes this season, and Georgia Tech ranks 103rd in the country in success rate on dropbacks.

One of Stockton’s favorite targets lately has been wideout Noah Thomas, who's found the end zone four times in the last four games. Take Thomas to score again on Friday night.

A Journalism School grad from Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI, Andrew previously worked at The Chronicle Herald and Star Metro, but knew in his heart that his future lay in sports. He began at Covers as a news editor and has now done everything under the sun when it comes to content. His work has been seen on TSN, Sportsnet, VSiN, and CBS. These days Andrew's betting expertise is focused on his favorite teams; the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors. He's also an avid college football fan and bettor. He can't be friends with you if you don't appreciate a Service Academy Under. The sportsbook where he does the bulk of his betting is bet365 thanks to its numerous prop betting options and competitive odds. His best advice? Find the balance between the numbers and what you see on the playing field. Then find the best price using multiple books. And don’t ask him where the nickname Taco comes from. It's not an interesting story. Seriously.
