One of three teams still without a loss in college basketball, the Nebraska Cornhuskers will face their toughest test yet when they hit the road to battle the third-ranked Michigan Wolverines tonight.

Michigan has just one loss on the season, and the books have it as a hefty 10.5-point home favorite.

My Nebraska vs Michigan predictions and college basketball picks have the 'Huskers taking the loss, but keeping it close enough to cover against their Big Ten rival on Tuesday, January 27.

Nebraska vs Michigan prediction

Nebraska vs Michigan best bet: Nebraska +10.5 (-110)

This Nebraska Cornhuskers team is not the same as previous iterations, but the school historically has a pattern when visiting good teams: they lose.

The Cornhuskers have dropped 26 straight true road games against opponents ranked in the Top 5.

The Michigan Wolverines are among the most complete teams in college basketball, averaging 9.17 points per game (11th), though no player even averages 15 points.

They’re a Top-10 team in both rebounding and shooting the rock, at a crisp 51.7% clip. Defensively, they allow just 68.6 points per contest, a Top-6 mark in the conference.

Nebraska is putting up 80.9 points per game, but it's also third in the Big Ten in scoring defense, allowing 64.9 PPG.

Pace will be the key. The Wolverines get up and down the court, ranking 11th in KenPom’s tempo metric, but Nebraska should bring it down to its level, 66.8 possessions per 40 minutes, which ranks 205th in college hoops.

Taking away possessions and slowing this down will keep the 'Huskers in range, which follows the current script: Michigan has won eight of the last 10, but Nebraska has gone 3-2-0 against the spread in their last five meetings.

Nebraska vs Michigan same-game parlay

Pryce Sandfort is on quite a scoring binge for the ‘Huskers, scoring at least 22 points in four straight games. He’s also shown the ability to show up in big games, dropping a season-high 32 against Illinois.

Michigan big man Yaxel Lendeborg has consistently been around his 7.5 rebounding total of late, cashing the Over twice in his last six games, but he’s also missed the Over by a single board in three others. Look for him to be around that figure again tonight.
