It's been over a decade since the Michigan Wolverines last traveled to Fort Worth, Texas, but the Wolverines will do just that when they take on the TCU Horned Frogs.

Michigan is 2-0 after gutting out an overtime win over Wake Forest, and expectations for this group are as high as they've been in years. The Wolverines will look to keep that optimism rolling against a one-loss TCU squad.

I break down the matchup in my Michigan vs. TCU predictions and college basketball picks for Friday, November 14.

Michigan vs TCU prediction

Michigan vs TCU best bet: Michigan -9 (-110)

I use the 'bounce-back' term a little loosely because, while the Michigan Wolverines ultimately won the game against Wake Forest, it was a somewhat surprising performance.

Some of this is about a significantly more talented Wolverines side, but much of it is about the TCU Horned Frogs, specifically what we've seen from the Frogs through three games.

While the sample size is enormously small, stripping away preseason priors on BarTorvik makes this spread nearly 19. That says a ton about what we've seen from TCU this season.

The biggest problem for the Frogs in this matchup is the transition defense they've put on the floor.

Michigan is going to play quickly. Its average possession length is just inside the top 20 through two games this season.

While that will regress some, it's still the DNA of what they want to do, and they'll have tons of success in this matchup against a transition defense that ranks in the bottom 10 percent nationally.

You can also mention other aspects of this game, such as the high-low combination of Aday Mara and Yaxel Lendeborg, which presents some real issues.

However, I don't know how much relevance that has when TCU is unlikely to get any transition stops. I'd play this to -10.5.

Michigan vs TCU same-game parlay

I like Michigan to dominate from the opening tip in this matchup. They are significantly more talented and present a myriad of issues on the offensive side of the ball for TCU.

I paired that with the Over. I projected this total to be around 159, and given how I expect Michigan to run in transition, the game script favors points.
