With Devin Booker primed to go off, the Suns are in a great position to get back in the win column vs. the Trail Blazers, and the Phonenix ML is our best bet of the night.

Suns vs Trail Blazers prediction

Suns vs Trailblazers best bet: Suns moneyline (+120)

The Phoenix Suns looked like they’d be heading into the Pacific Northwest on a six-game winning streak before allowing the Atlanta Hawks to score 47 points in the fourth quarter on Sunday. That defensive lapse aside, Phoenix has been playing well to start the season, winning seven of its last eight before that two-point loss.

During the five-game winning streak, Phoenix wasn’t just winning – it was blowing opponents away. The Suns had an average margin of victory of 18.2 during that stretch, and allowed only 103.0 points per game.

Overall, opponents are scoring only 114.4 PPG against Phoenix this year, while the Suns are getting enough points to win behind Devin Booker (28.4 PPG) and Dillon Brooks (22.0 PPG).

The Portland Trail Blazers are coming off a 1-4 road trip that ended with an overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. Despite heroics from Deni Avdija (26.0 PPG) and Shaedon Sharpe (22.1 PPG), Portland just hasn’t been able to play enough defense to win, allowing 122.2 ppg while opponents shoot 48.9% from the field.

The Trail Blazers have a chance to rebound at home, but even in Portland, I see the Suns as the favorite. That means I’m happy to take Phoenix on a moneyline as a slight underdog instead.

Suns vs Trail Blazers same-game parlay

Along with taking the Suns to win, I’m also backing the Over, as Portland is the fastest-paced team in the NBA and Phoenix plays quickly as well. With lots of points on the board, I’m also backing Booker to hit his PRA total tonight.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
