Best NBA Player Props Today for October 31: Markkanen Outshines the Suns

With the NBA Cup in full swing, Lauri Markkanen takes center stage once again against a Suns team that dreads facing him after his 51-point outburst as he headlines tonight’s top player prop picks.

Don't look now but the Utah Jazz have one of the most efficient offenses in the NBA with Lauri Markkanen leading the charge.

My NBA picks for today are backing the high-scoring forward to once again light up a Suns squad that he dropped a 50-piece on earlier this week.

Here are my best free NBA player props for Friday, October 31.

Best NBA player props today

Player Pick bet365
Cavaliers De'Andre Hunter Over 4.5 rebounds +115
Jazz Lauri Markkanen Over 26.5 points -115
Pelicans Trey Murphy III Under 15.5 points -115

Prop #1: De'Andre Hunter Over 4.5 rebounds

+115 at bet365

Cleveland Cavaliers forward De'Andre Hunter is averaging 5.0 rebounds per game. He's coming off a contest against the Celtics where he logged a season-high 30 minutes and scored 18 points with six rebounds.

The 6-foot-7, 221-pound Hunter has the size and athleticism to make an impact on the glass. And there should be plenty of available rebounds tonight against the Toronto Raptors. The Raps play at the fourth-fastest tempo in the league while ranking just 27th in rebound rate.

In addition, Cavs big man Jarrett Allen is questionable after breaking his ring finger on Wednesday. If Allen is unable to suit up, that would mean even more minutes and available boards for Hunter in the frontcourt.

Prop #2: Lauri Markkanen Over 26.5 points

-115 at bet365

Lauri Markkanen has been red-hot for a Utah Jazz squad that has become surprisingly efficient on the offensive end of the floor.

The sharp-shooting forward is averaging 34.0 points per game on 51/40/91 shooting splits. He has scored more than 30 points in three-straight games while exploding for a career-high 51 points against the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Markkanen and the Jazz face Phoenix again tonight and while there's no way he can repeat his numbers from Monday, he should still eclipse his points total of 25.5. The Suns are 28th in the league in defensive efficiency while ranking 23rd in opponent effective field goal percentage (56.4%).

Prop #3: Trey Murphy III Under 15.5 points

-115 at bet365

New Orleans Pelicans wing Trey Murphy has struggled this season, averaging 12.8 ppg on 34.6% shooting through four games. He has scored 13 points or fewer in three of four contests while failing to hit double digits in his last two games.

While Murphy's shooting efficiency should see positive regression his shot volume will likely decrease since he took a season-low eight field goal attempts on Wednesday with Zion Williamson back in the lineup.

He has a tough matchup on the road today against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers play at the slowest pace in the league and allow the third-fewest points per game (109.0).
