The injury-plagued Detroit Pistons visit Rocket Arena to face a Cleveland Cavaliers squad that’s beaten them in nine of their previous ten meetings.

Cleveland is turning the corner after a shaky start, and my Pistons vs. Cavaliers predictions expect the home side to blast Detroit.

Read on for my NBA picks for Sunday, January 4.

Pistons vs Cavaliers prediction

Pistons vs Cavaliers best bet: Cavaliers -4.5 (-110)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are beginning to get healthy, and the Association's worst against the spread team early this season has now covered in five of their last six.

Cleveland is balling, and it's beaten the Detroit Pistons in nine of the previous 10 meetings. The Cavs are playing their best basketball of the season, and Detroit isn’t.

The Pistons have dropped three of their previous four games. Their No. 2-rated defense has dipped recently, and they're up against the kind of Big Brother domination the Cavs have over Detroit.

Making matters worse for Detroit is it’ll be without Jalen Duren and Tobias Harris, leaving Isiah Stewart to fend for himself against a dominant Cavs frontcourt.

Cleveland is once again cooking and will run the depleted Pistons out of Rocket Arena this afternoon.

Pistons vs Cavaliers same-game parlay

Evan Mobley has pulled down double-digit rebounds in six of his last nine games despite playing under a minute restriction. Mobley is no longer restricted; with Jarrett Allen possibly limited, expect the DPOY to have another strong night on the glass.

Cleveland’s recent trend has also leaned toward control rather than chaos. Low-scoring games have defined this matchup, with the Under cashing in eight of the last 10 meetings.

Pistons vs Cavaliers SGP

  • Cavaliers -4.5
  • Evan Mobley Over 9.5 rebounds
  • Under 235.5

Our "from downtown" SGP: Ivey league

Cleveland’s one defensive soft spot is the perimeter, where opponents are shooting 39% from three over their last five games.

With the Cavs keyed on Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey should find enough clean looks after hitting at least two treys in three of his past five games.

Pistons vs Cavaliers SGP

  • Cavaliers -4.5
  • Evan Mobley Over 9.5 rebounds
  • Under 235.5
  • Jaden Ivey Over 1.5 threes

Pistons vs Cavaliers odds

  • Spread: Pistons +5.5 | Cavaliers -5.5
  • Moneyline: Pistons +175 | Cavaliers -210
  • Over/Under: Over 235.5 | Under 235.5
