The Sacramento Kings hope some “home cooking” can keep the team on the right path when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on January 12.

Sacramento snapped a seven-game losing skid with a home victory Sunday, getting double-figure scoring from six different players — including star guard Zach LaVine.

My Lakers vs. Kings predictions and NFL picks expect LaVine to step up again.

Lakers vs Kings prediction

Lakers vs Kings best bet: Zach LaVine Over 19.5 points (-120)

Zach LaVine scored 20 points in each of his first two games back from an ankle injury, but ran into some tougher defensive opposition in recent showings.

The Sacramento Kings’ guard put up efforts of 15 and 18 points vs. Golden State and Houston — both ranked inside the Top 10 in defensive rating — while shooting a collective 12-for-26 from the field.

Tonight’s tangle with the Los Angeles Lakers offers a softer foe, with L.A. just 24th in advanced defensive rating while watching opponents enjoy a 56.3% effective field goal rate.

The Purple and Gold have also been picked apart on the perimeter, sitting 23rd in 3-point defense.

LaVine dropped 32 points on the Lakers at the start of the season, and the team is leaning on him to provide more pop in the backcourt, with super sub Dennis Schroder suspended.

The majority of player projections forecast LaVine surpassing the 20-point mark, with models ranging from 18.9 to 21.3. My number comes out to 20.4 points, good enough to get him by 19.5.

Lakers vs Kings same-game parlay

LaVine dropped 32 on the Lakers earlier this year, and projections sit as high as 21.5 points.

LeBron James hasn’t been shy about shooting threes in recent games, averaging six attempts from deep in his last four.

The Lakers and Kings are among the league's worst defensive teams, and with Sacto playing the second of back-to-back games, that defense could be even softer.
