The New York Knicks have split wins and losses over their last four games, trying to get right after suffering through an extended losing skid to start the month.
The Knicks picked up a nine-point victory against the Blazers on Sunday and have a longer break to rest and practice ahead of this trip to face the Sacramento Kings.
The Kings seem like the perfect foe for New York, given their issues on the glass. Sacramento is one of the worst rebounding teams in the NBA, compounded by the loss of star center Domantas Sabonis in mid-November.
More specifically, the Kings are getting roughed up on the defensive boards, watching opponents haul down offensive rebounds and score second-chance buckets. Over the 26 games without Sabonis, the team is allowing 12.4 offensive boards per outing and 17 second-chance points.
The Knicks are one of the best teams at crashing the offensive glass and making opponents pay for it, snatching 13.7 offensive rebounds (third-most) and benefiting from 17.3 second-chance tallies per contest.
