The New York Yankees have lost five straight games and seen their cushion all but evaporate in the Wild Card race.

My Yankees vs. Rangers predictions see the road side getting back on track on Wednesday, with Aaron Judge playing a pivotal role.

Let’s take a closer look with my August 6 MLB picks.

Yankees vs Rangers prediction

My Yankees vs Rangers best betAaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases (+115 at bet365)

The New York Yankees have their captain back in the fold after returning in Tuesday's forgettable 0-2 loss in Arlington.

They have dropped five consecutive games and been shutout twice along the way, lacking the pop that Aaron Judge provides on a daily basis.

Judge is in a good spot to hit the ground running as he tries to get back into rhythm. Jack Leiter throws a ton of fastballs and sliders to righties, both of which Judge dominates against.

He is hitting .341 with 10 homers against the fastball while posting a still impressive .311 average vs. sliders.

Leiter has also had a much harder time slowing down right-handed bats. He’s allowed a 1.47 WHIP vs. righties compared to 1.17 against lefties.

Judge has averaged 2.6 total bases per game and cleared this line at a 57% clip on the season. Even factoring in potential rust, this is a great price to get on one of the league’s most dominant players facing off against a middling starter.

Yankees vs Rangers same-game parlay (SGP)

Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases

New York Yankees -1.5

Over 8 runs

I really like the Yankees in this spot. They have gotten a ton of power out of Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grisham lately and now add arguably the best hitter in the sport back into their lineup.

The Yankees are a much better offensive team than they’ve shown of late and that should shine through Wednesday afternoon.

While the Yankees are likely to do the heavy lifting in terms of run-generation, the Texas Rangers should chip in as well.

Carlos Rodón has not pitched nearly as well of late, owning a pedestrian 4.42 FIP over the last month.
