Aside from a minor blip in their season opener, the reigning champions have been utterly dominant. Expect the Aces to stay hot and cross the Sparks off their list tonight.

After an opening game blowout blip, the reigning WNBA champs are rolling, as the Las Vegas Aces seek a fifth straight win when they host the Los Angeles Sparks.

L.A. kicked off a four-game road trip with a win in Phoenix and will try to move to .500 with another victory.

My Sparks vs. Aces predictions and WNBA picks are siding with the champs on Saturday, May 23, since they have been known to dominate this head-to-head series.

Sparks vs Aces prediction

Sparks vs Aces best bet: Aces -8.5 (-110)

They’re a pair of Top 4 scoring teams, but the similarities end there.

The Los Angeles Sparks allow a league-worst 96.2 points per game, with a gruesome 20.2% turnover rate per possession.

The Las Vegas Aces defense is up by holding teams to 40.4% shooting (1st) from the field and are fifth in points allowed.

That’s bared out in the recent head-to-head, where Vegas has won five of six, going 4-1-0 against the spread, with each victory coming by at least 15 points.

Vegas’ stout defense and efficient offense will punish the Sparks on both ends, and I’d be confident to take that line up to 11.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Aces live inside the paint, leading the league in paint points with 49.6 per game. The Sparks do not protect under the hoop that well, ranking Bottom-5 in paint points allowed this season.

Sparks vs Aces same-game parlay

With the exception of a 45-bomb against Connecticut, A’ja Wilson has scored 22 points or less in her four other games, as the Aces have spread the scoring wealth around.

Los Angeles might be a chance for her to break out (again): Wilson has gone for 30+ against the Sparks in two of her last three games.

And Kelsey Plum is showing she’s more than a scorer, picking up at least seven assists in three straight games, and she’s got a gettable 5.5 line Saturday.

Sparks vs Aces SGP

  • Aces -8.5
  • A'ja Wilson Over 23.5 points
  • Kelsey Plum Over 5.5 assists

Sparks vs Aces first basket scorer: Stephanie Talbot (+1600)

The Aces have scored the first basket in each game during this four-game fun run, and Stephanie Talbot has done it twice, with Wilson and Chelsea Gray grabbing opening buckets the other two. There are some nice odds here hoping for Talbot to do it a third time in six games.
