The New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels will get a series going on this Memorial Day night.
The Yankees have been surging with an 8-2 record over their last 10 games. We expect their offense to continue to perform against an Angels team that's also been hot lately despite back-to-back losses.

My Yankees vs Angels best bet: Jack Kochanowicz Under 16.5 outs (-133 at Caesars)
It figures to be a bumpy evening for Los Angeles Angels hurler Jack Kochanowicz, who faces a New York Yankees team that continues to produce offense on a nightly basis, even more so against average to below-average pitchers.
With his mix of youth, hard-hit issues, and 5+ run-plus ERA, I'd firmly put the righty in that often-attacked category of middling starting pitchers. Because of this, I expect him to be run out of this game rather quickly, and I'm grabbing the Under 16.5 outs prop as my best bet.
A good starting point for any put-out handicap is the projected pitch count for the starting pitcher. Today, BAT X says that the number for Kochanowicz is around 85 — the third-lowest projection of the day. That feels like a fair number, too.
He averaged 93 pitches in May, and while the 104-pitch outing against the Dodgers did catch eyes, he tended to hang in the 80 to 90-pitch count area against the better offenses in the sport. He definitely will see one of those tonight.
As a ground-ball pitcher, Kochanowicz faces a tough matchup against the Yankees, which ranks sixth-lowest in ground-ball rate. Beyond the flunky nature of the matchup against L.A., teams with similar profiles have exploited him. Just look at the Rangers, an inconsistent offense that still managed to chase him after 4 2/3 innings and score four runs. I expect comparable success for the Yankees.
Outside of that, the Bronx Bombers' improved discipline at the plate poses another hurdle. Surprisingly, they now own the lowest swing rate in the majors, a marked change from a season ago. Kochanowicz's wobbly control — evident in his last start against Oakland, where he threw only 56 strikes out of 99 pitches and lasted four innings — could amplify this issue.
The Yankees' patient approach can challenge him to throw strikes, something he hasn't shown the ability to do consistently lately. I made the fair price on this -150 and would play it down to that number.

The first-five moneyline ties directly into that. It's strongly correlated to our best bet, but I felt there was still value in pairing it with our best bet, with my fair price being closer to +188 with the two paired together.
Lastly, we finished things off with Anthony Volpe. Rather quickly, the young slugger has been the third-best hitter against the sinker this season among Yankees players, and he'll see a ton of them tonight. The fair price on this prop was closer to a coin flip, so I happily added it at +116.
