The Cleveland Guardians will look to continue their hot streak when they close out their series against the Detroit Tigers tonight at Progressive Field.

Cleveland has been the best team in baseball over the last month, and I expect that trend to hold in my Tigers vs. Guardians predictions and MLB picks for Thursday, September 25.

Tigers vs Guardians prediction

Tigers vs Guardians best bet: Guardians -1.5 (+120)

The Cleveland Guardians cruised to a 5-1 win against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday as both teams continue to trend in opposite directions.

The Guardians improved to 17-2 over their last 19 contests while the Tigers lost their eighth straight and fell to 1-11 in their last 12. With the win, Cleveland overtook Detroit as the top team in the AL Central — a position which the Guardians once trailed by 15 1/2 games.

Offense has been a big problem for the free-falling Tigers as they’re scoring exactly three runs per game over the last 15 days — tied for the second-worst mark in the majors — while the club is batting just .217 over that span.

Cleveland has covered the spread in 55.1% of its games this year, tied for the fourth-best rate in baseball, while Detroit has covered just 44.9% (27th).

Tigers vs Guardians same-game parlay (SGP)

Jose Ramirez has led the Guardians offensively during their hot streak with a team-high 47 total bases in September. The third baseman has hits in seven straight games and 2+ total bases in four of those outings.

Gleyber Torres has been just about the only bright spot for Detroit of late. He’s batting .409 over the past week with hits in five of his last six.
