Antonio Senzatela's overall numbers may be rough, but the Rockies veteran remains one of the league's best at limiting walks.

The San Francisco Giants host the last-place Colorado Rockies at Oracle Park tonight.

All eyes are on Colorado's flailing offense, but my Rockies vs. Giants predictions think there's fantastic value in focusing on starter Antonio Senzatela.

Here are my best free MLB picks for this NL West clash on Friday, April 2.

Rockies vs Giants prediction

My Rockies vs Giants best bet: Antonio Senzatela Under 2.5 walks (-175 at Sports Interaction)

Antonio Senzatela is now two years removed from Tommy John surgery, and his walk rate of 3.6% ranks in the top 10 percentile of all pitchers. The Colorado Rockies right-hander hasn't issued more than a single walk in his last five starts.

The Under 2.5 walks for Senzatela is installed as -175 (implied probability of 63.6%), despite going Under that number in 53 of 58 starts (91.4%) since the beginning of the 2022 season.

Not only does Senzatela display good control, but he also gets hit hard, allowing an expected slugging percentage of .631. That often leads to an early hook, making it even more likely the veteran stays below this number against the San Francisco Giants.

It's also worth noting that the massive foul territory at Oracle Park leads to more strikes and tends to suppress walks. Oracle has gone 14% below the expected average of walks when adjusted for batters and pitchers over the last three years.

Rockies vs Giants same-game parlay (SGP)

Antonio Senzatela Under 2.5 walks

Robbie Ray Over 7.5 strikeouts

Giants -1.5

Not only is Senzatela a poor starting pitcher, but Colorado also has a historically bad lineup. The Rockies have averaged a league-worst 2.2 runs per game, including an OPS of .546 on the road.

Although San Francisco is below average at the plate, the Giants are still significantly better than Colorado, and they also have a pitching advantage with Robbie Ray taking the hill.

Despite losing their last three games, the Giants are 19-13, while the Rockies are an MLB-worst 6-25 with a run differential of -76. That's enough for me to lean towards the Giants on the run line.

Ray is a strikeout machine who has fanned 8+ batters in two of his last three starts. Meanwhile, the Rockies have the worst strikeout rate (28.1%) and whiff rate (31.7%) in the majors.
