There are postseason implications for both the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers in their series opener at American Family Field on Friday, September 26.

The Brew Crew can clinch the best record in baseball with a win, and my Reds vs. Brewers predictions expect Milwaukee to do just that while also making it that much more difficult for Cincy to punch its own postseason ticket.

Read on for my MLB picks for Friday, September 26.

Reds vs Brewers prediction

Reds vs Brewers best bet: Brewers -1.5 run line (+135)

The Milwaukee Brewers hold the tiebreaker over the Philadelphia Phillies for top spot in the National League, so the Brewers are a win away from clinching home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

Winning Friday would mean the Brewers could rest regulars the rest of the way and potentially set their rotation up for the NLDS, and I think the Brew Crew will be eager to enjoy that luxury.

While the Cincinnati Reds are also fighting for a wild-card berth, I give the Brewers a pitching edge with Cincy righty Zack Littlell entering with a 5.18 ERA across his past eight starts, including a 6.05 mark on the highway.

Of course, the Brewers' offense has been relentless with a 10th-ranked wOBA against righties for the campaign and an 11th-ranked overall mark in September.

Milwaukee righty Quinn Priester has also cruised down the stretch with two runs allowed or fewer in each of his past six starts while posting a tidy 2.41 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.

Reds vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

The Reds have the ninth-highest strikeout percentage in September and the sixth-highest mark against right-handed pitchers for the campaign. As a result, I like Priester to rack up five or more punch outs, which he’s done in five of his past six outings while posting a respectable 8.8 K/9 and 24.1 K%.

Reds second baseman Gavin Lux has been solid against right-handed arms throughout his career, with a .270 batting average against them over the past three years and a .278 mark in 2025. Lux has also recorded a hit in six of his past nine games with an overall .323 batting average.

Reds vs Brewers SGP
