The Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins play their second of a three-game set at Target Field on Tuesday, July 29.

While Minny took the series opener, my top Red Sox vs. Twins predictions and MLB picks are calling for Boston to even it up on the heels of a strong Lucas Giolito outing.

My Red Sox vs Twins best bet: Red Sox moneyline (-118 at FanDuel)

Boston Red Sox righty Lucas Giolito allowed two runs or fewer in seven of nine starts before the All-Star break for a tidy 1.90 ERA and 1.12 WHIP, so I’m anticipating a return to form after surrendering nine runs across just 9 1/3 innings over his last two outings.

The Minnesota Twins have a potential bullpen game on tap, with righty Pierson Ohl likely to pitch a chunk of innings in his first MLB appearance. While he’s been solid in the minors with a 2.17 ERA across 66 1/3 frames, the Boston lineup is tough to navigate.

The Red Sox rank fifth in wOBA and sixth in ISO for the month, and they also respectively check out 10th and eighth for the season against righties. On the flip side, the Minnesota bats rank 19th in wOBA and 12th in ISO against righties, and 15th in both metrics this month.

Of course, Minny star Byron Buxton (ribs) is also considered day-to-day and missed a second consecutive game in Monday’s series opener.

Red Sox moneyline

Jarren Duran Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Matt Wallner Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Red Sox star Jarren Duran sports a rock-solid .380 wOBA and .242 ISO against right-handed pitchers since the beginning of last season and dropped to the three-hole of the Boston lineup the past two games.

Duran is also scorching hot in July with 12 runs, 21 hits, and 16 RBI while posting an elite .977 OPS.

Twins outfielder Matt Wallner is beginning to heat up at the dish with a .354 wOBA and .295 ISO across his past 15 games. Additionally, he has screaming statistical correction ahead of his .323 wOBA and 232 ISO against righties this season after posting respective .407 and .291 marks last year.
