Rangers vs Tigers prediction

My Rangers vs Tigers best bet: Tarik Skubal Under 1.5 earned runs (-140 at Bet365)

Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal hasn’t missed a beat this season after taking home his first Cy Young award in 2024. The left-hander is 3-2 with a 2.21 ERA in seven starts, striking out 48 in 40.2 innings of work while walking just five. When it comes to earned runs, he’s only allowed 10.

Skubal has cashed the Under in four of his last five outings. He gave up a mere one earned run to the Los Angeles Angels on May 2 and had a pair of three scoreless starts in four appearances before that. He’s truly one of the best in the game.

As for facing the Texas Rangers, the southpaw compiled a 2.19 ERA against them last season across two starts. Texas is also just 3-7 in their last 10 games and has lost two in a row. The Rangers’ offense is one of the worst in the majors, ranking 28th in runs scored, 25th in hits, and 25th in team average.

Skubal’s ERA lowers to 1.06 at home as well. He will carve tonight.

Rangers vs Tigers same-game parlay (SGP)

Tarik Skubal Under 1.5 earned runs

Spencer Torkelson Over 0.5 hits

Patrick Corbin Over 2.5 earned runs

Spencer Torkelson is having a solid campaign for the Tigers, batting .254 with 10 homers and 32 RBI. He’s been swinging it extremely well as of late with a .300 average in May so far through seven contests.

Torkelson has cashed the Over in hits in five consecutive games, and he just went 3 for 5 in the finale against the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The slugger has also had success against Rangers starter Patrick Corbin, going 2 for 3 lifetime.

Speaking of Corbin, he’s certainly improved a lot in ‘25 compared to last season, where he owned an ERA over five. This year, he sits at 3.28, but that could change a bit tonight. While

Corbin has hit the Under in earned runs allowed in four starts in a row, he hasn’t pitched great against this current Tigers lineup.

They’re hitting .295 versus Corbin and Detroit swings it substantially better with left-handers on the hill, batting .279 compared to .254 against righties. The Tigers also just scored 21 runs across a doubleheader on Thursday. They will do some damage against Corbin.
