The Detroit Tigers are on the verge of being eliminated by the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS.
While our Mariners vs. Tigers predictions aren't confident in Detroit's ability to stave off elimination, my MLB picks are backing a productive game from outfielder Riley Greene on Wednesday, October 8.

Mariners vs Tigers Game 4 predictions
Who will win Mariners vs Tigers Game 4
Neither team is sending its best to the mound in this one. Given as much, it’s tough to argue against the better offensive team.
The Mariners ranked second in wOBA vs. right-handed pitching from August 1 onward, behind only the AL’s No. 1-seeded Toronto Blue Jays.
The Tigers weren’t nearly as productive, slotting 13th in home wOBA and 19th in average over the same period of time. Give me Seattle.
Mariners vs Tigers best bet
Riley Greene Over 1.5 total bases (+125)
Riley Greene’s upped his game since the stakes have risen. He's recorded multiple total bases in four of six playoff contests thus far, including the series-opening win against the Seattle Mariners.
He’s positioned well to find success against Bryce Miller in Game 4. Greene has enjoyed success against Miller over a limited sample, going 2-for-6 with a double.
The splits in this matchup very much work in Greene’s favor. He posted a .276 average and ISO nearing .300 against right-handed pitchers this year.
Conversely, Miller struggled vs. left-handed bats. His WHIP was higher, and he allowed significantly more power, giving up 2.3 homers per nine innings. That’s a far cry from the 1.3 he held righties to.
Miller possesses a diverse pitch mix, using seven different pitches during the regular season. He relied most heavily on fastballs and splitters against left-handed bats.
Greene managed ISOs of .207 and .270 when facing those two pitches. He’s shown the ability to handle himself and hit them with power.
Mariners vs Tigers Game 3 same-game parlay
Casey Mize didn’t give up much power to lefties during the regular season, allowing a .155 ISO and 0.9 homers per nine. It was a different story against righties like Julio Rodriguez.
They posted a .197 ISO and hit 1.7 homers per nine. Playing on the road should also help Rodriguez’s power numbers — it certainly did from March to October.
Josh Naylor recorded a hit in 75% of his games this year and hit well against lefties and righties. He’s yet to pick up a knock in this series, a trend I don’t expect to last.

Mariners vs Tigers home run pick for Game 4
Riley Greene (+400)
Greene hit for a ton of power against right-handed pitching while Miller really struggled to zap it from left-handed bats. This is the perfect storm for Greene to snap an eight-game homer drought.
