The Seattle Mariners visit the Chicago Cubs once again this afternoon for an interleague matchup at Wrigley Field.
Cade Horton has been brilliant at home this season, and I’ll explain in my Mariners vs Cubs predictions why I expect that trend to continue.

Mariners vs Cubs prediction
My Mariners vs Cubs best bet: Cade Horton Under 2.5 earned runs (+130 at bet365)
The Chicago Cubs’ pitching staff has shown a lot of consistency in 2025, and Cade Horton has played his part. The righty owns a 3-1 record and 3.47 ERA in six starts, striking out 29 in 36 1/3 innings of work while issuing just eight free passes.
The 23-year-old has cashed the Under in earned runs allowed in four of his last five outings, most recently tossing 5 2/3 scoreless frames against the Pittsburgh Pirates last Friday. In three June appearances, Horton sports a 2.81 ERA.
He’s thriving at Wrigley Field as well, sporting a 2.71 ERA across 16 2/3 innings of work.
The Seattle Mariners' offense isn’t anything to write home about, ranking 13th in runs, 19th in team average, and 16th in hits. Horton is throwing the baseball with confidence, and I expect him to keep the M’s at bay in this contest.
Mariners vs Cubs same-game parlay (SGP)
Emerson Hancock has a 4.48 ERA to go along with a 3-2 record. He’s been solid as of late with a 1.53 ERA in June, but I’m eyeing the Cubs to smack him around here — even if it doesn’t translate to runs.
Chicago is second in the Majors in hits per game with 8.77. It had nine hits in Friday’s 9-4 loss, and Hancock has allowed 35 hits in 32 2/3 innings on the road this year. The Cubs average 7.8 hits per contest at Wrigley Field, too.
Cal Raleigh just took over the MLB lead for home runs on Friday, smacking No. 28 and 29 against the Cubbies. Raleigh finished the day 3-for-4 and he’s had at least one hit in five of his last six contests.
