HR picks for June 10
Junior Caminero (+320 at DraftKings)
Junior Caminero is having a solid campaign for the Tampa Bay Rays, batting .256 with 15 home runs. The 21-year-old phenom is well on his way to a 30+ homer season at this rate after slugging just six long balls in 43 games last year.
The Dominican already has two bombs in June, and he’s up against Lucas Giolito tonight in an AL East clash. The veteran hasn’t been thriving by any means, posting a 6.42 ERA across seven starts and allowing six homers during that span. His ERA balloons to 10.47 at home, with four long balls surrendered.
While Caminero has never faced Giolito, his struggles at Fenway are evident. Caminero has also smacked 11 of his dingers off right-handed hurlers. The last time he played in a road series, Caminero hit three homers.
Spencer Torkelson (+360 at DraftKings)
Spencer Torkelson is crushing for the surging Detroit Tigers, and he’s well on his way to an All-Star Game appearance. While the first baseman is batting only .237, he’s already up to 15 long balls.
Tonight, the Tigers face Baltimore Orioles left-hander Cade Povich, who has a 5.11 ERA and has given up nine long balls in just 11 starts. Povich has allowed seven of them to right-handed hitters.
Torkelson has proven he’s one of the most feared power hitters in the American League, and this evening’s clash offers a lot of value for him to hit No. 16.
George Springer (+475 at DraftKings)
George Springer is a staple in the Toronto Blue Jays’ lineup. The veteran has gone deep 10 times this year and has smacked two home runs in his last four games.
The Jays face the St. Louis Cardinals again tonight, and they hand Miles Mikolas the baseball. The righty is having a respectable campaign with a 3.96 ERA, and he’s only allowed four bombs in 12 starts.
However, Springer has succeeded against RHPs: six of his homers are off righties, and his average sits at .256 against them.
