HR Prop #1: Trent Grisham
Trent Grisham has always had pop in his bat, but I don’t think anyone was predicting him to smack 30 homers this season with the New York Yankees. He’s been their second-best power hitter behind Aaron Judge, and Grisham has gone deep twice in his last four games.
The veteran faces Chris Bassitt today in a crucial matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays. Grisham has enjoyed himself against the righty in the past. He’s 4-for-17 lifetime, and two of those hits have left the yard.
Grisham has also smacked 24 of his round-trippers against right-handed hurlers, and he’s slugged 12 bombs at home. That short porch in right field is always of help to left-handed hitters like him, too.
HR Prop #2: Freddie Freeman
Freddie Freeman may not be putting up massive power numbers, but he’s still gone deep 19 times, and 20 could be on its way tonight. The Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Baltimore Orioles, who send Trevor Rogers to the mound. He’s had success against him, going 3-for-9 with a double and an RBI.
The former MVP actually just went deep in the series opener on Friday, finishing 2-for-4 in the loss. Freeman also made some noise in August, cracking seven home runs and hitting .310. He’s swinging it well overall.
Freeman has six homers off left-handed pitchers. He’s also left the yard 12 times on the road compared to just seven at Dodger Stadium. Look for Freeman to make it a second straight game with a long ball.
HR Prop #3: Nathaniel Lowe
The Boston Red Sox went out and acquired Nathaniel Lowe at the deadline to give them some more pop, and they needed another first baseman. He’s actually looked good since coming over from the Nationals, hitting over .300 in September so far and smacking his 18th homer on Tuesday against the Guardians.
It’s Brandon Pfaadt on the hill tonight a,nd he’s allowed 22 bombs in only 28 starts. Lowe has also raked off him in the past, going 6-for-10 with two doubles and one home run. Pfaadt struggles to keep opponents in the ballpark, and Lowe has done no wrong against the righty.
Lowe has slugged 16 of his home runs off right-handed pitchers as well.
