HR Prop #1: Jurickson Profar

+750 at DraftKings

Jurickson Profar may not be a star in the big leagues, but he’s a very solid player who can do a little bit of everything. The veteran is having a respectable campaign at the dish for the Atlanta Braves, batting .260 with 10 home runs.

The Curacao native has gone deep seven times this month. In other words, nearly all of his power damage has come in August. The Atlanta Braves face Edward Cabrera of the Miami Marlins tonight, and Profar is 3-for-8 lifetime with a pair of doubles and a round-tripper.

He’s cracked seven long balls off right-handed hurlers and just had five hits across a three-game set with the New York Mets. Profar is hot at the moment, which is why he's among my top MLB picks

HR Prop #2: Gleyber Torres

+550 at DraftKings

Gleyber Torres has been a tremendous addition to the Detroit Tigers, who are certainly going to be a dangerous team once the playoffs roll around. The former Yankee has a .262 average to go along with 13 home runs and 60 RBIs.

Torres has three hits across his last two appearances, and he’ll face J.T. Ginn of the Athletics this evening. Torres is 2-for-3 against him with a home run. Ginn has allowed 13 home runs in 17 outings this season, with nine of those bombs occurring at home. Detroit is in Sacramento.

Also, Torres has eight homers off righties and five on the road. The infielder has momentum right now – he could just put one in the bleachers in a HR-friendly ballpark.

HR Prop #3: Cal Raleigh

+180 at DraftKings

Save the best for last, right? Cal Raleigh just broke the single-season record for home runs by a catcher, smacking No. 48 and 49 on Sunday, surpassing Salvador Perez’s record from 2021. Raleigh is a legitimate MVP candidate and could very well beat out Aaron Judge for the award.

Raleigh is knocking on the doorstep of a 50-homer campaign, and we’re not even at the end of August. What’s even more impressive is that he’s a switch-hitter and a catcher, the most grueling position in the sport. Raleigh has gone deep seven times in August.

He’ll face JP Sears this evening, and he’s 3-for-15 lifetime against him, with one round-tripper. Raleigh has 19 long balls off lefties, and Sears gives up a ton of homers, allowing 25 this season. The Big Dumper has a prime opportunity here.
