Rays vs Guardians best bet: Rays moneyline (+100)
After a strong start to August that got Cleveland up to 61-55, the Cleveland Guardians have lost nine of their last 11 games, including five straight. Their bats have gone cold with five runs or fewer in nine consecutive games and 13 of their previous 14, which two straight shutout losses have magnified.
The Tampa Bay Rays have been streaky as of late, winning three in a row, losing their next four, and now winning their last two contests.
Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee is having the worst season of his young career at 9-9 with a 4.62 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. He's allowed multiple runs in every start since May 27, including 4+ in six straight outings (to be fair, he only allowed 2 and 3 ER in two of those starts).
Rays southpaw Ian Seymour will make his first career start after 12 appearances out of the bullpen. He got beat up by the Yankees in mop-up duty in his last outing, but was stellar as a starter in Durham this season, going 9-3 with a 2.62 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 86 innings.
Given the Guardians’ recent struggles and record vs. LHP (15-22), the Rays are the play as underdogs tonight in Cleveland.

The Guardians have been held to Under 3.5 runs in three of their last four and five of their last nine contests overall. They also failed to score more than two runs in four of the previous five meetings against the Rays.
