HR picks for June 30

Aaron Judge (+165 at DraftKings)

Surprise, surprise. Aaron Judge is at the top of my MLB picks again and for good reason. The slugger is now up to 30 home runs on the year, and he just smacked a pair of long balls in Sunday’s rubber match against the Athletics. He now has four bombs in his last nine contests.

The New York Yankees begin an important AL East series with the Toronto Blue Jays tonight, and they send Max Scherzer to the hill, who's making only his second start of the year after getting injured in his season debut. Judge has enjoyed himself against the former Cy Young winner in the past, going 4-for-14 with a homer.

Judge has smacked 15 of his home runs on the road, and New York visits Toronto. He’s also hit 20 bombs off right-handed hurlers. After such a monster day on Sunday, don’t be surprised if the reigning AL MVP keeps it rolling in the series opener in Canada.

Giancarlo Stanton (+300 at DraftKings)

Giancarlo Stanton finally returned to the lineup in mid-June after missing the entire season so far due to injury. To be brutally honest, he’s struggled, hitting only .235 in 34 at-bats with 11 strikeouts. Stanton has yet to put one in the bleachers, but tonight’s matchup also plays heavily in his favor.

The veteran has made Scherzer’s life a nightmare in the past. He’s 7-for-25 lifetime, and four of those hits have been home runs. We all know Stanton has big-time power when he does square one up, and while it’s only a matter of time until he does go deep, having Scherzer on the hill will boost Stanton’s confidence tonight.

Last year, Stanton had 22 of his 27 homers against righties, and he also swung it well from a power standpoint against the Jays, going deep three times. He could certainly keep his success going against Scherzer tonight.

Rafael Devers (+260 at DraftKings)

Rafael Devers has gone deep twice since being acquired by the San Francisco Giants in 12 games and he’s sitting at 17 home runs on the season. The slugger is a do-it-all player and he’s always a threat to leave the ballpark.

The Dominican will face Arizona Diamondbacks righty Ryne Nelson tonight, who's typically a reliever. While Devers is 0-for-2 lifetime against him, Nelson has allowed three homers in his last four appearances. Devers has 12 bombs off right-handed pitchers and he’s left the yard five times in June.

Even if Devers doesn’t get to Nelson, he’ll have more opportunity once he exits. Arizona's bullpen has an ERA over 5.00 and has surrendered 43 homers overall as a staff.

Today’s HR parlay

Aaron Judge to hit a home run

Giancarlo Stanton to hit a home run

Rafael Devers to hit a home run

  1. Kyle Schwarber, Phillies
  2. Cal Raleigh, Mariners
  3. Aaron Judge, Yankees
