The San Francisco Giants will look to continue their playoff push tonight when they visit the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
San Francisco has been the hottest team in baseball for the last couple of weeks, and I’ll break down why they should keep rolling in my Giants vs. Cardinals predictions.
Read on for my MLB picks for Saturday, September 6.
Giants vs Cardinals prediction
Giants vs Cardinals best bet: Giants moneyline (-130)
The San Francisco Giants stayed hot in Friday’s series opener with a dominant 8-2 win against the St. Louis Cardinals as Rafael Devers and Willy Adames had two RBI apiece.
San Fran has been the hottest team in baseball over the last two weeks, going 11-1 over that span, and that roll should continue tonight as Justin Verlander takes the hill.
August was Verlander’s best month of the season, as he posted a 3.62 ERA over six starts. The 42-year-old has been trending in the right direction for a while now, holding the opposition to two earned runs or fewer in six of his last eight outings.
Verlander should get plenty of support from his offense as well – the Giants have scored 7.83 runs per game during their hot streak, led by Devers and Adames who have combined for 29 RBI. That should be more than enough to get the job done.
Giants vs Cardinals same-game parlay (SGP)
Devers and Adames have been on fire during San Francisco’s run, notching 16 and 13 RBI, respectively, over the last 15 days.
Devers has driven in a run in five straight games with eight total RBI over that span, while Adames has an eight-game streak with 13 total RBI during his run.
