The San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Brewers cap off their weekend set with the rubber match this afternoon at Oracle Park.

With Milwaukee likely missing a key offensive piece and Robbie Ray taking the mound for San Fran, we could be looking at a low-scoring affair.

I’ll break down why I’m playing the Under in my Giants vs. Brewers predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, August 24.

Giants vs Brewers prediction

Giants vs Brewers best bet: Under 8 (-110)

The San Francisco Giants upset the Milwaukee Brewers with a rare offensive outburst in a 7-1 win on Saturday, powered by a four-RBI game from Casey Schmitt.

Prior to Saturday’s win, San Fran had averaged just 2 runs per game over its last four contests. In fact, the Giants have produced just 127 runs since the All-Star Game — tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for the worst mark in the majors.

While the Brewers have been an offensive machine this year, they could be missing a key cog this afternoon in Brice Turang. The second baseman leads Milwaukee with 133 hits this year but sat out Saturday’s game with a wrist injury.

Couple that with Robbie Ray taking the mound for the Giants, and we’re likely looking at a low-scoring game at Oracle Park. Ray owns a 2.85 ERA and has held his opponent to two earned runs or fewer in eight of his last 10 starts.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Giants vs Brewers same-game parlay (SGP)

I’m not expecting many runs on either side this afternoon, which could play into the hands of the Giants.

San Francisco has scored Under 4.5 runs in five of its last six outings, but Ray should give them a significant edge on the hill over Brewers starter Chad Patrick.

The Giants starter has racked up 6+ Ks in three of his last four starts and will need to be good to help his club earn the series win.

Meanwhile, the Brewers have averaged just 3.0 runs per game over their last six contests, going 2-4 over that span.
